Interview a character from your novel

Interviewer: How old are you? Describe yourself?

Hope: I'm sixteen and I would defiantly say my favorite thing about myself is my smile, it's one of those smiles you see on a toothpaste commercial. I'm 5 foot 8 inch's and I have a really round face, fair skin and the lightest blue eyes. I have curly brown hair and my bangs really need a trim, you can't see my eyebrows!

Interviewer: Do you find it hard living up to a name like "Hope"?

Hope: Of course! I'd say it is probably one of my biggest challenges people expect things from a "Hope" more then they would from a average name. You can't walk up to someone and introduce yourself as "Hope" without a hopefully look on your face. I almost consider it my job to spread hope to the hopeless. In the end It is much better then Tulip, I don't know what my Mom was thinking!

Interviewer: Why are you so passionate about waitressing?

Hope: I really love to make people smile! also waitressing is one thing I will always have in common with my birth mom. Shes a great waitress and she knows all the tricks to handle any situation. She taught me that the customer is always right and the cook is always right and if they disagree and you can't fix it consider you top history. She taught me to carry around Tylenol just in case a customer has a headache. Always play, with the kids, there parents love it, make sure nobody leaves unhappy. Hard to believe she taught me all this through 3 Christmas cards and 4 visits. Most of all I think its important to have something that your really good at.

Interviewer: Why is G.T. campaign so important to you?

Hope: G.T. is one of the most well rounded individuals, He stairs cancer right in the face and said I'm not scared of you, I'm sure he can mayor Mullhoney! Another thing is considering the other option how could anybody not vote for G.T. Honor and morals are still important, plus look at the competition why elect a con-man?

Interviewer: When did you start to consider G.T. as a father? Even before he adopted you?

Hope: When I walked into the Welcome Stairway I seen a beautiful person even with his ghostly skin and bald head. He had a aura of beauty, He taught me to be me before I even knew me, taught me not to filter my words on account of his cancer. He told me how his family moved to Mullhoney in the middle of his junior year and how much he hated his old man for it. Then he explained how Mullhoney became home, his home, and eventually my home. I couldn't of cut a better dad out of a magazine.

Interviewer: At what point did you realize your mother just wasn't cut out for parenthood?

Hope: I could probably say when she left me in the hospital, all 8 ounces of me with tubes and wires handing from my body. But really it was when I learned what love is, how it feels. When I moved to Mullhoney I fell in love with 3 people, Bravemen as my boyfriend, Addie as my mother and G.T. as my father. Addie told me once that I shouldn't wait around for my mom to step up and be a mom because she can't. She wasn't born with the tools she needed to be a parent.

Interviewer: Why was it so hard for you to date Braveman?

Hope: The second I walked into the Welcome Stairway I thought he was really interesting. My biggest rule is not to date someone you work with so I stuffed those feelings way back in my head. But subconsciously I was afraid, my mom can't love me, my dad can't love me, its just me and Addie always was. So what if I had of got my hopes up and Braveman couldn't love me?

Making connections

One connection that I found in my novel was the the restaurant Hope worked at the Welcome Stairways reminds me a lot of when I worked at the rink canteen. Making food for people and making other people happy is something Hope loves. Also the rink was a lot like home and the Welcome Stairway was Hopes second home.

A second connection I made was G.T. and my grandfather. G.T. is a strong father like figure same as my grandfather and they are both fighting a losing battle with cancer.

The last connection I made was with Braveman and my boyfriend! Braveman is really timid and isn't much for making the first move, same as Phil.

Artistic expression

I choose to write the title of my book "Hope Was Here" in bacon because the book is about a restaurant, that frequently serves bacon!

wut about the bad guy ??

The first book that comes to mind that makes me sympathize with a bad doer is "Of Mice And Men" by John Stienbeck. Lennie Small could easily be seen as a bad man, in the times it was written in, a strong man who is very dense. He easily injures people thoughtlessly. In my opinion and I'm sure many others Lennie is a good person who was just born a little short witted.

At the first of the book it talks about how they half to run from there former employer in "Weeds" where Lennie was wanted on charges of attempted rape because he thought the young women's dress looked soft and he wanted to touch it, harmlessly. As you could have guessed it didn't go over well the people of "Weeds" were hunting Lennie. Thus Lennie and George had to flee to a near by ranch where they could be employed.

They were doing good at there new job for several weeks. Lennie has evidently a lot a mental disability to deal with, and something that comes with that is his obsession with things that look soft. The owner of the ranch's son Curley had a young attractive wife that is very promiscuous, Lennie was in the barn alone one day, when Curleys wife comes in. He tries to pet her hair, her feeling uncomfortable struggles. Lennie not understanding his own strength accidentally kills her and hides her body. Lennie and George then are forced to flee again, because there is a angry mod out for Lennie.

To the readers of "Of Mice and men" Lennie obviously doesn't understand what is going on and doesn't intentionally hurt anybody but he does hurt many accidentally. In the days of the depression no body would have understood a mental disability but in our times we do more.

Traade Off

If I could trade with any fictional character I would choose Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill. I would want to be her for many different reasons, shes high school president and cheer captain in high school, goes on to foster troubled teens and own a clothing company. She has good characteristics and I've grown to love her over the years.

Brooke is very pretty she has long dark brown hair and brown eyes. She always has the most amazing clothes because after all she is the designer of "Clothes Over Bros" clothing line. She has all the money in the world to spend on whatever she wants. She sometimes had trouble in high school because she lived alone in her parents house because they travel a lot, she felt abandoned but I think it be alright if my parents flew out of the country and left me a ton of money, in my opinion anyway.

She was really popular in high school, she was cheer captain of the Ravens. She always had all the guys and all the friends and parties to go to. I think it would be sweet to have no boundaries for a while and just be about to sleep all day and party all night. Brooke also has a good head on her shoulders though sense she was voted president of her high school.

The final reason I would want to be Brooke is because she is a good person. She takes in a teenager named Sam that was abandoned by her birth mom and lets her live in her house even though she steals from her at the first she sees the good in people.

I think overall it would be fun to be any TV character for a while, but I'm sure that I would like to come back to my own life after a while.

The Real World

I've choosen to pitch a new character for The Real World: Washington. Her name is April, a strong minded conservative who believes strongly in traditional values. She has long black hair frequalntly pulled in a tight bun, she was raised in a christain family from Maine. A thin active women who is strong enough to but any man in his place. She who cause many conflicts in the house because Ty often likes to share his opinion of religion, which in his case is athiest. There is another sceptic in the house named Emily who was raised in a fundamentalist Christian cult has trouble believing in religion after rebeling from her church. Another conflict it would cause is with Ashley very liberal individual who is one of the most politically aware person in the house she was a Obama deligate in the last election and with April being very conservative there could be some heated debates between the two.

I choose to do the five best songs to rock out to, when comparing the songs I'm comparing the beat of the songs and the lyrics. I choose these songs because there all fast beat and get you pumped up for a party or to go for a run or anything.

Song number 5 is This Afternoon by Nickleback it doesn't have the best beat to it but the lyrics are great, and its deffinetly easy to sing along too. It's catchy and makes me want to go out and party!

Song number 4 is Out Last Night by Kenny Chesney Its slow pace and may not be the best song to work out to but it is a good sing song for everybody to sing along too, it is my all time favorite song, the lyrics are awesome and very easy to relate too.

Song number 3 is Shots by LMFAO it has a awesome beat to it, the lyrics aren't exacly PG but they are catchy and they are very fun to listen too, its kind of hard to sing along to thought sense they are so fast.

Song number 2 Patron Tequila by Paradiso Girls is one of my personal favourite songs it has really good lyrics and a beat. Its fast pace and a really good song to sing along and run too. It only takes listening to it one time to know pretty much all the lyrics

Song number 1 Tic Tok by Kei$ha is best song to jam out too, you can sing it in the car, listen to it on your ipod, run to it. Its fast beat with good lyrics and the song isn't as repeatitive as a lot of the other songs avaliable.
